Rain Check

August 20, 2010 at 2:03 pm 13 comments

In the last week or so Delhi has not seen the Sun I don’t know about others but certainly I am not missing it. The drains are clogged, traffic is jammed, every nook and corner is dug up which is adding to the woes but now I am not complaining. Why? Arrey, because I love Barish!!ย Because all these troubles are not going to disappear by cribbing, I have decided to roll-up my jeans, wear my rain shoes and enjoy the mausam till it lasts.

So I am making hay while the rain falls and doing all those things that qualify as โ€˜taxfree pleasures’

  1. Getting drenched at every opportunity
  2. No fuss about the sneezes and sniffs that follow
  3. Doing chap-chap in puddles of water
  4. Listening to all my fav hummable songs
  5. Snoozing for that extra 15 minutes in my cozy bed
  6. Reading ‘ Daddy Long Legs’ for the nth time sitting by the window
  7. Aloo paranthas for lunch, garam pakodas & bhutta for the 5 pm snack
  8. Coffee outings
  9. Drives- even it means two hrs on the road on way back home
  10. Dreaming about this, that and all such jazz and simply taking it easy

Enjoy the rains. It isn’t often that the city gets so much downpour.
    But why the chap-chap?
