The strain of rains

Damn the govt in power and the ones sitting in the opposition. One does nothing for the ‘Aam Janta and the other just believes it straining the system by declaring bandhs. Fact is no one cares what happens to the common man.
Two days of continuous rains and a flood has been declared in Ambala and nearby towns and villages. Why? Because the drainage system could not take the strain of the heavy down pour and broke down, gushing all the water into the city and areas around. Ambala till today morning was submerged under 5 ft of water and of course the families are without power for the last 48 hrs and it is not likely to be restored for another 24.
 The same happened in 2004, I assume lessons are not for the authorities and the Govt. to learn from. If they can’t prepare for monsoons which has just started then to expect that the damage will be repaired soon is asking for too much!
And all this will result into a further hike in the prices of daily consumables- no respite, is there???

That is the sad situation of our country. Remaining in power is the only thing. No one cares about whats happening to the common people. During a flood the politicians will just come and take an aerial survey of the area. They don’t do anything about it because they haven’t experienced these things. They don’t know what losing a loved one means. They don’t have to stay stuck in traffic jams. For them everything can be bought at a price.

I always tell anyone who cares to listen: “India will lose the race with China and only because we are zilch in infrastructure. We take too long to come up by something – and by the time it is up, the population has gone up by 25 %…

really? Okay I don’t know which part of India you live in.. but Delhi, National capital where the Games are scheduled to happen has precicely got heavy rains twice since the monsoons started ( duration half an hr to one hr) the situation both times got so bad that ppl like me were stuck on the roads for 3-5 hrs only becoz the muck after all the digging up work was not cleared and it blocked the drains and led to water clogging..

so we got some hope there, still!! sure, thats the only think that keeps us going…!

Heights of optimism, I must say. Sure, we will host the Games. As for being the world class city/ country- that’s a dream… and dreams are taxfree so carry on 🙂
