Turns Two!!
I have had dreams so pristine clear for me to put them on paper,
And there have been periods when the connection just snapped,
Work took precedence & affair took a back seat,
Till I realized it’s joyful to steal moments from my day and talk self,
With this; my affair with words turns two!
Till my next.. here is a feast for your eyes!!!
Too close yet too far…!
With trees laden on either sides of a near deserted road ahead,
Pleasant evening breeze blowing in her face,
She sat by window holding Damsel in Distress by P.G. Woodhouse in hands,
How she wished it was him and not a stranger sitting by her side.
Alas, it was just another bus ride back home!
It’s a Hat-trick
Cricket is in the air and though I was very much off it till last year thanks never ending ‘this trophy and that league matches’. I too talk the language just for today as Delhi hosts the match between ‘India & Netherlands’.
With the last post on maxmayur.com I have achieved a hat-trick of guest blog posts!
Till my next; do read my contributions here:
I am The Woman; A 55er for the International Women’s Day
The little Drummer; A reminisce about my school days
Unmasked
He wanted his family to know he was different from the crowd,
The habit to show off his cleavage hardly made them notice,
He then decided to unmask and posed for the shutterbugs,
The picture made it to the front page of a national daily next day,
Caption read, “ Pride Parade gets a face”!
About Time
I am not the first to take this step,
Many have done it before and have happy tales to tell,
Each time she wanted to try, multiple factors over-ruled the decision
Finally the aggression to prove the worth of her ideas won over the fears
That was the day when an employee became an entrepreneur
The Pangs of Separation
She could feel her heart beating faster,
The pangs of separation had begun to rise within,
When she felt its effect on her,
She let herself free to get immersed in what gave her pleasure like love of her lover would,
It was pitter -patter of raindrops that soaked her skin and touched her soul!
PS: I was given the word ‘rain’ to write a 55er and this one came about. It was written a few months back and published on Ginger Chai… Next post hopefully will be a story thats been in my mind for a while now.
Destiny’s Child?
I am living my destiny, she said with a smile,
All this has been predicted in my horoscope,
An embarrassed expression she wore,
Probably didn’t know how to explain what happened with her in the bedroom previous night,
Swollen lip, cut on the forehead and black patch under the eye, she needn’t say anything more…
It’s My Happie B’Day!
I stopped adding years to my age when I crossed my teens,
I am shameless when it comes to announcing to the world it’s my B’Day,
I love the day to be made special with flowers, gifts and lots of wishes,
Do it the way you like, just ensure I get your message in time!
PS: Just a silly way to perk myself up to match-up the b’day spirits. Unless you start to think when did she become narcissist 🙂
Wine Seller
He guided her to a corner table,
Offered her a glass of wine, her first ever,
As she sipped an uneasy expression surfaced on her face,
Was it the wine or his touch from underneath, he thought,
She looked away and rose to leave,
Turned back and said this is not my cup of tea!

Last Date
They stepped out of the Mercedes holding hands,
He thought, even after 15 years she looked as stunning as she did on their first date,
She wondered if he sensed she was wearing his favourite fragrance Chanel No. 5,
They walked to the chamber and signed on the documents,
Their last as husband and wife.
